Inaugural Mud Run Event Sells Out – 125 Teams to Participate
On Saturday, August 28, 2010 more than 1,000 people will gather to compete in the first annual Chattanooga Mud Run at Greenway Farms to benefit Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga. Proudly sponsored by Capital Toyota and Toyota of Cleveland, the Mud Run will be a 5K-style run featuring a military-style obstacle course with most of the obstacles surrounded by (or consisting entirely of) mud. The Mud Run is a team based event.
Teams are to be comprised of five participants ages 14 and up. “The Mud Run is poised to become one of our most unique and interesting fundraising events,” said Pete Palmer, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga. “We’re always looking for new, exciting ways to expand our role and serving capacity in the Chattanooga area. The Mud Run concept has taken off in other communities, and we are thrilled to host the first one here in Chattanooga to build affordable homes for economically disadvantaged families.”
